Camille Monette In 1989, at the age of 9 months, Camille Monette suffered a serious head injury that left him with severe brain damage. As he grew older, he developed an uncommonly superior intelligence, a spectacular memory and even gained telekinetic powers. With an IQ in excess of 280, he quickly earned a place among the intellectual elite, working with independent directors of short films on such learned subjects as flatulence, vomit, gore and fecal humor. He got his start in special effects and make-up with independent films such as Crucifix, Pro-can, Sleazy Pete, Catcall, The Impalers and many others. He created a number of special effects for music videos and live performances, and was also artistic director on the Quebec independent feature Le discours des songes, released in 2024. It was through all this that he was inspired to direct his first short film, Termitator, released in 2017. Junky of cinematographic projects, he quickly built a reputation as a multidisciplinary craftsman, sculptor-molder, B-movie gore special effects and prop maker. He is based in Montreal and has been working in the film industry for over a decade. |
