Free, non-exclusive streaming for finished genre films

Cabane à Sang TV is a free streaming platform for genre cinema - horror, sci-fi, exploitation, giallo, thriller, and the weird edges around them. We are a Québec non-profit, run by volunteers. There is no submission fee, and there never will be one.

If your festival run is over, this is for you

Festival submission portals want premieres. We do not. A film that finished its circuit two years ago is exactly what we are looking for, and it is the hardest kind of film to place anywhere else. Films that already premiered, already toured, or already stream somewhere else are all welcome.

You keep your film

Streaming with us is non-exclusive. Keep it on YouTube, Vimeo, another platform, or license it elsewhere later - nothing here stops you. Submitting does not by itself grant us streaming rights: if we accept your film, a separate agreement covers the term, the territory and any revenue share. The full terms are on our Submission and Filmmaker Terms page.

What we accept

  • Finished films only. No works in progress or rough cuts.
  • Any length. Shorts and features both. We just need the runtime up front, so please fill it in.
  • Genre, broadly. Horror, gore, sci-fi, exploitation, giallo, thriller, trash, disasterpieces, and the unclassifiable.
  • Any language, with subtitles. If your film is not in English or French, it needs English or French subtitles.
  • Films you hold the rights to. You confirm this when you submit.

How to send it

Give us a private streaming link we can watch - Vimeo, an unlisted YouTube video, FilmFreeway, or a screener platform. If the link has a password, there is a field for it right below the link.

Please do not send a file transfer. WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox and similar links are not accepted: they expire, they force a download, and we cannot watch them in a browser.

We reply in 2 to 4 weeks.

Looking to add or correct catalogue information instead - a film, a director or a festival? That is a different form: use Submit a Project to the Database.

Your submission is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We'll email you when it's approved or if changes are needed.

Questions filmmakers ask

Does my film have to be a premiere?

No, and that is the point. We are one of the few places built for films whose festival run is already finished. Premiere status is irrelevant to us.

Is there a submission fee?

No. There is no fee to submit, no fee if we accept your film, and no fee at any other stage. We are a non-profit and we do not charge filmmakers.

Is streaming with you exclusive?

No. Our licence is non-exclusive and you keep ownership. Your film can stay on YouTube, Vimeo or any other platform while it streams with us, and you can license it elsewhere afterwards.

Do you pay filmmakers?

Submitting is free and unpaid. If we accept your film for streaming, a separate agreement governs that relationship, including the term, the territory and any revenue share. We are an all-volunteer non-profit, so we will be straight with you about what we can offer at that point rather than promise anything here.

What genres do you accept?

Genre cinema broadly: horror, gore, sci-fi, exploitation, giallo, thriller, trash and the unclassifiable. Horror is our largest section, but a sci-fi or erotica or oddity entry is just as welcome. If you are unsure whether your film fits, send it anyway.

Do you take features, or only shorts?

Both. Any length is welcome. We only ask that you tell us the runtime when you submit, so please fill in that field.

My film is not in English or French. Can I still submit?

Yes, as long as it has English or French subtitles. We cannot review a film we cannot follow, and we are not able to subtitle it for you.

What do I need ready before I start?

The title, the director’s name, the runtime, a synopsis, and a private streaming link we can watch, plus its password if it has one. A poster and stills help but are optional.

Can I send the film as a file transfer?

No. WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox and similar links are not accepted - they expire, they force a download, and a reviewer cannot watch one in a browser. Please use a streaming link instead: Vimeo, an unlisted YouTube video, FilmFreeway, or a screener platform.

How long does a decision take?

2 to 4 weeks. Every film is watched by a person, which is why it is not instant.

Is this the same as submitting to the Cabane à Sang festival?

No, these are two different things. This page is for streaming on the platform. The festival is a separate submission, and it accepts entries through FilmFreeway only - look up Cabane A Sang there. If you want a Montréal screening and a shot at the Gala, submit to the festival. If you want your finished film streaming for an audience, you are in the right place here. You are welcome to do both.

Can I submit more than one film?

Yes. Submit them one at a time so each gets its own page and its own review.
