Synopsis
Year 2039. The jobs of the twenty-first century no longer exist. UPDATE, a revolutionary AI, has replaced the entire human workforce, giving people back the time they have always wished for — time to do whatever they want. And yet, for many, that time feels empty. Without a role in society, people feel lost. To solve this growing existential crisis, ADAPTiQ™, the company behind UPDATE, launched the Career Recovery Program: a promise of reintegration for those who want to return to work, feel useful again, and find a renewed sense of purpose. Among them is Mark Erwin, a seasoned expert in his field, who agrees to join the program. But what Mark discovers inside ADAPTiQ™ is something no one was meant to know. A secret that could upend not only his future — but the very idea of humanity.
