Simon Dymond

Simon has been working as a director for over 10 years. Having gained experience making self-funded films, he picked up Film of the Month on Shooting People for the short film Punchline in 2012. That same year, his 48 hour entry to Raindance premiered at the festival. In 2013, he made his breakthrough short as writer-director, The Grand which premiered at Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Later in 2013 he was awarded the Pears Film Award for Happy New Year - the film debuted at UK Jewish Film Festival and picked up an award at ShortCutz Amsterdam. Simon directed the short film Wash Club as part of iShorts 3 - the film went on to play at a litany of festivals including Galway, LSFF, Aesthetica, Norwich before releasing online via Short of the Week and grabbing a Vimeo Staff Pick. The film found a large audience online, gaining over 150k views in its first week and was picked up by Omeleto, YouTube’s largest short film platform. The lead actor, Tom Blyth went on to secure the titular character role in Epix series Billy the Kid. Simon has also directed a large body of narrative music videos from artists and labels from New York to Australia. He has made work for James Blunt and London Grammar and his collected body of work has over 7 million views online.
