Morena Barra

Morena Barra, born in Naples (Italy) in 1991 and now lives in St. Gallen (Switzerland). In 2019, she completed her film studies at the F+F School of Art and Design in Zurich. Morena Barra works at the intersection of installation video art, expanded cinema, and experimental film, exploring the form and boundaries of the film medium.

Her artistic practice focuses on feminist, erotic, and existential themes, delving into contrasts within societal structures and human existence—norm and abnormality, reality and surrealism, pleasure and pain, becoming and decay. In recent years, Barra has increasingly embraced collaborative creative processes, expanding her artistic vision and working methods.
