Michael Polanco

I am a 2D animator, award-winning filmmaker, and educator based in NYC, with studios in both New York City and downtown Troy, NY. I originally studied acting in college, and after graduating, I developed an interest in traditional animation. I began studying at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in NYC through their continuing education program, taking classes in animation, cartooning, and illustration. Over time, I developed an experimental storytelling style that fuses stream of consciousness with absurdity, and dark humor. Today, I continue to focus on independent filmmaking and teaching filmmaking to children and young adults.
