Lauren Eden

Lauren Eden is a 24-year-old director, writer, and producer working in Toronto. Her filmmaking style can be described as absurdist feminist fairytales, however, she loves the opportunity to work on any female-focused stories. Visually, her approach is most often theatrical, bold, and whimsical. Her directorial debut is Lavenza (2024), an absurdist, anachronistic dark fairytale inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and old Hollywood cinema. In March 2025, Lavenza was broadcast on UK television channels for Latest Visions presents: International Women's Day 2025. The film is in its festival run and has been selected by over 35 film festivals. Her most recent comedic short, My Digital Boyfriend (2024), was a finalist in Season 17 of the CBC Short Film Face Off and is available to stream on CBC Gem.
