Kourosh Mohammadi
Kourosh Mohammadi (born 1996, Tehran) is a filmmaker, dancer, movement designer, dance teacher, and a member of 33Projects since 2017. He holds a BA degree in Theater Directing from Faculty of Art and Architecture - Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, in 2021.
He started his art studies in the field of animation in the art school and received a diploma in animation in 2013. He also has an acting diploma from the Azad Cinema School of Iran in 2011. He is the winner of the Acting Award of Shamseh Festival in 2012 and the winner of the Honorary Diploma of Acting from the Iranian Free Cinema School in 2011.
Kourosh started his teaching career as the assistant of Alireza Keymanesh in Body-Mind workshops from 2015 to 2020 and as a dance teacher from 2018.
He has recently made a short experimental animation called “The Corridor” in 2023.
Works he has choreographed are “Jenbandegan” which is an in-progress physical theater by Mohammad Majd Taheri , “Flicker” a dance-theater premiered in Tehran in 2019 as a co-director and co-choreographer. He was also a co-director and co-choreographer of a dance film called “I put myself on a line” in 2018, and a video art called " Buried in the womb” in 2017.
Kourosh has appeared as an actor and dancer in movies such as Upside Down directed by Alireza Keymanesh in 2023, My Lovely Home also directed by Alireza Keymanesh in 2021, “De-Collage” directed by Erphane Sadeqzadeh in 2020, and in multi-award winning film, “Flatland” as an assistant and leader, co-directed by Alireza Keymanesh and Amir Pousti in 2017; etc.
He has played as an actor in theater plays and performances in different styles such as classical, contemporary, folk, comedy, physical, and dance-theater since 2010.
