Dion Cavallaro

Dion is a filmmaker born and based in Adelaide, South Australia. Since a young age where he found himself making home movies with cassette tape cameras, Dion has always had a passion for film and video production. His experience has seen him work on a variety of projects from concept through to post, with fellow creatives and for a range of clientele. He is driven by storytelling and creating content that aims to both connect with audiences and entertain. He also believes that with every cinema experience, popcorn is a must. In 2024, his first produced feature, WITHIN THE PINES, won First Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, screened at Sitges Film Festival and was the closing film for the inaugural Dark Nights Film Fest. The film is distributed by Umbrella Entertainment across Australia and New Zealand with a further worldwide release set for late 2025. In 2022, his short film FERNS screened at the Adelaide Film Festival before the premiere of the South Australian feature CARNIFEX.
