At Cabane à Sang TV, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website. By accessing and using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy as well as the Terms and Conditions available at https://cabaneasang.tv/terms-conditions.
1. Information We Collect
Comments
When you leave a comment on our site, we collect:
- Personal Data: The information provided in the comment form (name, email, website).
- Technical Data: Your IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection.
- Gravatar: An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile. Gravatar Privacy Policy. If your comment is approved, your profile picture (if available) will be visible alongside your comment.

- Images: If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can extract this data from images on our site.

We use cookies for various purposes:
- Comment Cookies: If you leave a comment, cookies will save your name, email, and website for convenience on future comments. These cookies last for one year.
- Login Cookies: Temporary cookies are set to check if your browser accepts cookies. Login cookies save your login information and display preferences:

Account Demographics (Optional)
When you create an account we ask for a small amount of information about you, so that we can describe our audience in aggregate to the arts institutions that fund us. Only the year of birth is required. Everything else is optional, and anything you provide can be changed or removed at any time from your profile.
- Year of birth: the year only, never a full date of birth. If you are under 14 we collect no age information at all, and record only that none is held for your account.
- Country of residence, and province or territory: optional. The province is asked only if you tell us you live in Canada, and it is deleted automatically if you later change your country to another one.
- Gender: optional and self-declared. "Prefer not to say" is recorded as an answer in its own right, so that we can tell it apart from a question that was never answered.
We store the date on which you provided each of these, as a record of your consent. Clearing a field on your profile deletes both the value and that consent record. None of this information is ever shown publicly, published in the catalogue, shared with advertisers, or used to decide what you can browse or watch.
Aggregate Signup Statistics
Separately from your account, we keep a monthly tally of where registrations come from and of what brought people to the site. If you do not tell us your country, we count instead the country and region that Cloudflare reports for the connection. These are counts only: a number per value per month. They are not linked to your account, your name or your IP address, they contain nothing that identifies an individual, and the more precise location data that Cloudflare makes available to our server (city, postal code, coordinates) is not stored.
2. Use of Google Tag Manager (GTM)
We use Google Tag Manager to manage and deploy marketing tags (like tracking pixels and scripts) on our website. GTM itself does not collect personal data but facilitates the use of other tracking tools. For detailed information about how Google processes data through GTM, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy.
3. Analytics
We use analytics services to gather data on website usage to improve our user experience. This may include:
- Data Collected: Pages visited, time spent on site, browsing behavior.
- Data Handling: We do not use analytics services that collect personally identifiable information (PII) and do not share data with third-party advertisers.
4. Embedded Content
Articles on our site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles) from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may:
- Collect Data: Gather data about your interaction with the content.
- Use Cookies: Set cookies and track your activity.
- Privacy Policies: Review the privacy policies of the external websites for details.
5. Data Sharing and Transfers
- Password Resets: Your IP address will be included in password reset emails.
- Spam Detection: Comments may be processed by automated spam detection services.
- Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for performance and security, which may collect your IP address and browser information. Cloudflare also reports an approximate location for each connection to our server. We use only the country and the region, and only as anonymous monthly counts; we do not keep the more precise location data (city, postal code, coordinates) that Cloudflare makes available. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
6. Data Retention
- Comments: Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
- User Data: Registered users can view, edit, or delete their personal information, excluding usernames. Administrators also have access to this data.
7. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous.
- Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw your consent at any time. This includes non-essential analytics and marketing, and the optional demographic information (country, province, gender) you may have given us.
- Portability: Receive, where the law provides for it, the computerized personal information you supplied to us, in a structured and commonly used technological format.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, except where legally required to retain it.
- De-indexing: Ask us to stop disseminating your personal information, or to de-index a link that gives access to it, where the law allows.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at admin@cabaneasang.tv. We respond within the timeframe required by Québec's Law 25, generally 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
If our response does not satisfy you, you have the right to file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI).
