René Brar
René Brar is an independent filmmaker with two acclaimed micro-budget features under his belt. His debut, TAYLOR'S WAY (2009), is a luscious yet unsettling road trip film that garnered international festival attention and earned several awards for its direction and naturalistic performances. His follow-up, MARTIN'S PINK PICKLE (2014), is a bittersweet coming-of-age drama that premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Currently, René is developing two new films, including a feature adaptation of AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES and a revisionist western exploring the power of folk songs. Based in Vancouver, René holds degrees in film and religion from Yale University.
