Mike Davis

Mike Davis began his obsession with grainy 16mm public domain film projections after a traumatic incident in the basement of his grammar school library. He developed a process known as "green filmmaking" by recycling stock footage from old US government, education and industrial movie reels, cobbling shots together and dubbing in new dialogue and sound to create an original and often ridiculous new storyline. He found inspiration in the great low budget filmmakers Herschell Gordon Lewis, Roger Corman, Ed Wood and John Waters, all who pulled off fantastical feats of cinema for very little money. Mike was the screenwriter on the infamously raunchy and rollicking Russ Meyer homage, "Pervert!" His directorial debut and first exploit into the wild world of "green" filmmaking is '50s sci-fi parody "Sex Galaxy," followed by the political satire/horror monster movie and film festival favorite "President Wolfman." Both films are currently in distribution. "Dead, White and Blue" marks his third feature as director and what critics are calling his most timely film to date. He currently lives in Los Angeles and works as an archival researcher and producer for film and television.
