Robert Howat

I worked as an actor in both theatre and film for several years gaining valuable practical experience before turning to writing and directing for film. I am greatly influenced and inspired by the works of George Miller considering what he managed to create with limited budgets on his early films, John Carpenter with his atmospheric visual storytelling again on limited budgets and Richard Fleischer with his work on hugely enjoyable period adventure swashbucklers. My science fiction comedy short film Professor Henry Bowfax's Fantastic Journey Through Time! won The Golden Raptor Award at the 2022 Scottish Short Film Festival. My short action film Junction Zero was nominated for Best Apocalyptic Action at the 2021 End Of Days Film Festival USA. My science fiction comedy short film Professor Henry Bowfax's Incredible Journey Through Time! was nominated for Most Creative/Original Film at the 2019 Scottish Short Film Festival.
