PJ Germain

PJ Germain is a first-generation Indian-Haitian American filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose work explores identity, legacy, and transformation through a genre lens. A graduate of the prestigious AFI Directing program, PJ brings a bold cinematic voice shaped by cultural heritage, personal experience, and a lifelong love of storytelling. His breakout short Ghost Light, starring Abraham Benrubi, received support from the Lucasfilm Foundation and garnered acclaim on the festival circuit. The film cemented PJ’s signature approach: weaving emotionally grounded stories into genre-driven frameworks that examine the human condition. His work has since screened at notable festivals such as LA Shorts Fest, HollyShorts, and FilmQuest. His recent short Bend in the Road is currently streaming on Alex Proyas’ Vidiverse platform. In addition to directing, PJ has built a successful career in post-production, contributing to major film and television projects including Avatar, Piranha 3D, Kindred, and recently the feature films Valiant One and Spin the Bottle. He is also a two-time Webby Award winner. Currently, PJ is developing several feature films that draw on his Caribbean and South Asian roots—stories that blend spectacle with intimacy, always grounded in emotional truth.
