Jeffrey Elmont

Jeffrey Elmont is a passionate, uncompromising filmmaker from Amsterdam known for stories that hit hard and stay with you. A writer, director, and editor, he moves between narrative and documentary with a raw emotional pulse at the core of his work.

Inspired by Robert Rodriguez’s Rebel Without a Crew, Elmont embraced a fearless DIY spirit — making films driven by vision, grit, and independence. His AFI thesis The Second Half, starring Sinqua Walls, won Best Student Film at the Hollywood Black Film Festival, while Junior, featuring Lawrence Gilliard Jr., earned multiple Best Short Film awards for its emotional depth.

His documentary work includes Emmy- and PGA-nominated United States of Arts and Diane Warren: Relentless (Greenwich Entertainment), featuring Cher, Common, and Jennifer Hudson — premiering January 10, 2025. He also edited Defying Gravity: The Untold Story of Women’s Gymnastics (Critics’ Choice winner, Sports Emmy nominee) and directed a feature doc with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions.

Elmont’s latest short, NO NATION, embodies his bold, emotionally charged approach — a dystopian vision brought to life with fire and zero compromise. With multiple screenplays and films in development, he continues to push boundaries across genres and mediums.
