Jaroslaw Konopka
Jaroslaw Konopka was born in 1970 in Lublin, Poland. He is multi-talented Polish author
and director of auteur animated films in stop-motion (e.g. “Underlife” inspired by the
famous “Lullaby” of composer Krzysztof Komeda). His experience also includes working
as a cinematographer, animator, editor, as well as production designer.
He graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Krakow (faculties of graphic arts,
painting and intermedia – animation) and for many years has been working with classic
easel painting.
Later, he decided to focus on film production. Since that time Jaroslaw Konopka has been
involved in the production of many animated films. He also became a valued animator of
stop-motion series for the pre-school viewers.
