J.A Villalobos

A multifaceted artist, Villalobos has always moved between scoring Soundtracks and Creating stories. He has resided in Los Angeles for 14 years.
As a screenwriter and Director, he directed his first short film "Ignora", starring Alvaro Morte. Years later, his short film "Wings" was included in the Official Selection at the Tribeca Film Festival. In addition, it premiered the Recent Spanish Film Festival in Los Angeles and participated in at least 50 short film festivals, winning some awards such as "Best Short Film", "Best Director", and "Best Cinematography".
With his production company Mediagrama, he produced films like "Impávido", "The Magnetic Tree", and "The Island of the Wind".
In his role as a Composer, his collaboration with Alberto Iglesias stands out in "The Kite Runner", nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Score, BAFTA awards, and the Golden Globes. As a composer, he has been responsible for soundtracks for high-budget TV Shows like "The Philanthropist", produced by Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana for NBC, or "Reconstruction" created by Peter Horton (New Amsterdam).
His collaboration with the Argentine director Diego Lerman has led him to three nominations for the Argentine Academy Awards and another two nominations for the International Critics Awards.
In his role as a Music Producer, Villalobos has collaborated with artists such as Shakira, Sia, and Jennifer Lopez among others. In 2018, he composed and produced alongside Chris Martin (Coldplay)
