Hui Xu

Hui Xu is a visual artist based in Vancouver, specializing in 3D art and digital painting. With a passion for exploring the interplay between reality and virtual reality, Hui creates immersive experiences that invite viewers to question their perceptions of the real world. Originally from Shanghai, Hui spent years navigating life and motherhood before undergoing tumor surgery, which became a pivotal moment that pushed her to fully embrace her artistic desires. Realizing that time was fleeting, she decided to pursue what she truly wanted to do. Her formal artistic journey began with training at the Alberta University of the Arts and Emily Carr University of Art + Design, where she developed her skills in both traditional and digital mediums. Strongly believing in collective consciousness, Hui views humanity as interconnected, transcending race and gender. Through her art, she aims to foster empathy and understanding, using vibrant colors and dramatic compositions as powerful tools to resonate with her audience's souls.
