Chih-Chieh YU

Born in 1996, a graduate of the National Taiwan University of Arts, this Taiwanese filmmaker specializes in thriller, suspense, and mockumentary storytelling. He gained recognition in 2022 with his standout work Contained（神明在看）, and was selected for the 27th Busan International Film Festival’s ACFM Platform BUSAN Emerging Filmmakers Program, as well as the 17th FIRST International Film Festival Training Camp for Directors. He specializes in crafting narratives through thriller and suspense mockumentary styles. In 2024, his graduation film Redacted（四牲六道）won the Jury Special Award at the 46th Golden Harvest Awards, the Magnetic Award at the FIRST Fantastic Film Festival, and the Grand Jury Prize at the In Moments Film Festival. His latest short film, Isolation（閩江船事件）, is currently in production, alongside the development of his debut feature film. The project has received script development funding from the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, was selected for the inaugural Taipei Film Festival New Director Workshop, and was chosen as a project at the 2024 Golden Horse Film Project Promotion (FPP), where it won the TAICCA Original Award.
