Brayden Josh Malinga

Originally from South Africa, I studied at the University of Texas at Austin and loved the city so much that I decided to stay. I have made 9 shorts at this point in my life, all of which dabble in genre and art-house to some extent. I shy away from the gloss of modern technology, film should be made with "a rock in one hand and a camera in the other". My last two films were shot on 16mm and miniDv respectively, all handheld. I like the freedom of this style. The ability to adapt as we shoot. The process becomes like a dance, or more appropriately, a fight. My work has screened at the Denver Underground Film Festival and on Blood Disgusting's World of Death.
