Andrew Appelle

Andrew Appelle is a filmmaker from Thunder Bay, Ontario based in Toronto. He is a two time CSA nominee for Best Writing in a Comedy Series and has acted as cinematographer on many internationally renowned television series’ and films. Andrew was the cinematographer on Matt Johnson’s 2016 Sundance premiered Operation Avalanche which overlapped with his work as a writer, DOP and editor on the critically acclaimed Canadian comedy series Nirvanna the Band the show (NTB). Following the success of NTB, he collaborated with Steven Kostanski as Cinematographer and Editor on the highly accoladed smash hit “PG: Psycho Goreman”. Andrew has been a director and cinematographer on Vice Network’s highest rated program of all time. “Dark Side of the Ring” & “Tales from the Territories” (produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson). Andrew has most recently shot Steven Kostanski’s sword and sorcery epic “Deathstalker” and has just wrapped up work Directing Hulu’s Into the Void, a documentary series about mysterious and tragic events within the world of heavy metal.
