Kamell Allaway
My dream has always been to foster my voice as a Lebanese American filmmaker, which led me to study film production and creative arts early in my life.
When my father passed away in 2016, the course of life took me to Alaska where I inherited my father’s fishing company. I dove into an industry that was completely foreign to me and along the way I learned so much about Alaskan culture. Working in the hospitality industry for almost 7 years also connected me with people from around the world, as I absorbed their stories and connected with their humanity.
After a long hiatus from filmmaking, I’m now driven to reconnect with my passion of making films that speak to my soul. My experience of living in Alaska and a personal history of addiction has inspired me to tell stories based around mental health, in honor of myself, my family, and the beautiful people I’ve met along the way.
