When you get home, what do you feel? Are your emotions from the day bubbling to the surface? Frustration, anger, the consent demand of society, being silent and decant. You can't hold these emotions back forever. 

Anger and rage are often seen as unacceptable emotions—feelings we are taught to hide. But why? Emotions are there for a reason. Anger is your body's way of communicating that something is wrong. 

This experimental animation colourfully explores the emotion of rage by using oil pastel on paper, enhanced by beautiful metal music from Nina Grimm. 

We let the anger consume us, let the fire change us and let it burn away all that does not serve us.

Doortje Schoonbrood

My work may look sweet and colourful, but I have an urgent message I need to tell. Growing up surrounded by nature in the south of the Netherlands helped me form a strong connection with nature. I think it is so strange that we, humanity, separate ourselves from nature and our emotions.
I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Animation and Illustration, followed by a Master's degree in Animation. Throughout my studies, I learned to blend disciplines and to be free in experimenting with art, poetry and music.
