‘Chateau Sauvignon: terroir’ follows the isolated adolescent son of a storied vintner family who finds himself torn between obeying his father’s callous restrictions and preventing his ailing mother from deteriorating further. When a doting woman and her indifferent son arrive seeking a tasting and tour of the winery, Nicolas sees an opportunity to help care for his mother, as well as prove his worth to his choleric father. However, his wayward plan quickly takes a turn for the worse, and his missteps puts his family’s secretive murderous ways in peril of being unearthed.

| David M. Night Maire With a decade of industry experience pitching, collaborating, consulting and assisting in various departments on projects of fluctuating scopes, from shoestring micro-budget music videos to nine-figure studio blockbusters, David M. Night Maire’s industry background is as multifaceted as it is wide-ranging. Cosmopolitan in nature, Night is a Franco-American creative independent filmmaker – Writer, Director, Producer – who’s gritty, character-driven films have received endorsements and worldwide acclaim that have allowed him to carve himself a niche within the genre-based film circuit. His stories underlying themes explore the complexities of power dynamics, familial, professional, and otherwise, particularly evident with his three most recent shorts – “Horologium” & “Morning Vigil” & “Chateau Sauvignon: terroir” – which he refers to as his “Pride & Prejudice & Cannibals” trilogy. Night has premiered music videos on MTV and Glamour, and produced content for the likes of Louis Vuitton . Moët Hennessy, Red Bull, and the Leslie-Lohman Museum, amongst others. Moreover, he has garnered thousands of laurels and awards thanks to the many short films he’s Directed and Produced, which often rake in over 100 official selections each. Amongst such projects is “My Daughter Yoshiko” by BAFTA-nominated director Brian Blum, which won the New Industry Selection Award from Oaxaca FilmFest as well as the Zeno Mountain Award from Miami Film Festival. His aptitude and approach towards the festival circuit engendered many collaborations with emerging and established filmmakers, while his cultivated persona and visual aesthetic have precipitated invitations to Program and Judge diverse film festivals across the United States as well as abroad, including FilmQuest, Shriekfest Horror Film Festival, DC Shorts International Film Festival & Screenplay Competition, Blackbird Film Festival, PA Indie Shorts Film Festival, and the London Film Awards. A bilingual alumnus of the prestigious New York University: Tisch School of the Arts, Night Maire earned his B.F.A. with honors in Film & T.V. with a focus on Directing, and Minors in Psychology and Producing for Film & T.V. This native Alpine’s passion for storytelling led him to pursue an M.P.S. in Film Directing from the School of Visual Arts under famed music video and commercial director Bob Giraldi. Since then, he’s been invited on a number of occasions to return as a Guest Lecturer to talk on an array of production topics to the program’s postgraduate students. Night continued to academically hone his craft at Royal Holloway’s University of London, where he has recently received an M.A. in Screenwriting for T.V. & Film. |
