Emelie Dahlskog
Emelie Dahlskog is a dynamic and multifaceted filmmaker, known for their inventive storytelling and hands-on approach to filmmaking. A recent graduate of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where they earned a BA in Acting, Emelie has already made significant strides in the industry as a director, writer, and actor. Splitting their time between London and Sweden, they infuse their work with a unique blend of cultural perspectives and artistic styles.
Emelie's first short film, Repetition, is a drama-comedy that delves into the struggles of two actors striving for the perfect self-tape. The film captures the rollercoaster of emotions and the relentless effort that goes into the craft, showcasing Emelie's keen eye for character-driven narratives.
Following the success of Repetition, Emelie directed The Mannequin, a horror-comedy currently making rounds at film festivals worldwide. The film tells the eerie tale of an aspiring seamstress whose life is overtaken by a mannequin with its own sinister ambitions. This project further cemented Emelie's reputation for blending genres and creating compelling, offbeat stories.
In addition to their work in front of and behind the camera, Emelie is pursuing a course in Postproduction and Visual Effects, reflecting their commitment to mastering all aspects of filmmaking. Their passion, productivity, and continuous learning make them a rising star in the industry, with a promising career ahead.
THE MANNEQUIN is their second shortfilm as a writer/director, REPETITON (2022) being their debut.
