| Serget Payet In the early 2000s, I wrote and directed my first short films. Despite all the passion I put into them, the results didn’t live up to my ambitions. So I decided to devote all my energy to writing and editing, in order to gain maximum control over my artistic desires. In 2013, I’m making a living as an editor, which I see as one of the most important ways of understanding the rhythm, structure and direction of a film. I train students not only in editing software, but also in its “philosophical” aspects. At the same time, I’m in charge of post-production for Reunion Island’s major sporting event “Le Grand Raid”, I acted in a short film that won a prize at the “Festival Même Pas Peur” competition in Saint-Pierre, and I collaborate with other authors on documentary and fiction writing. This allows me to discover different worlds and sensibilities, and thus improve my writing. In 2016, I was selected by the GREC scheme to rewrite my short film. “DISTORTION”, which I plan to produce with the help of CONTREPOINT PRODUCTION in Lyon. |
