| Quentin Herlemont Quentin was born in Haute-Savoie, France. After studying documentary filmmaking, he began his career at France Télévisions as a cameraman and then a director for Des mots de minuit. He quickly found his voice in immersive documentaries, directing films like Sans courir, sans crier and Château Intérieur, which explore unique worlds. In his short film, Blue Trout, a poetic portrait of his grandmother, he revisits the relationship between memory and fiction by blending testimonies and imagined imagery. With a passion for genre films, Quentin directed Électrique Nightmare, an experimental thriller where the heroine must literally break the fourth wall to escape. In 2023, together with his co-writer Thibault Gilles, he won the SACD Digital Award and CNC Talent, allowing them to produce 23H59, a pilot episode for a fantastical comedy series. That same year, he directed Simples, a 75-minute documentary exploring the struggle for recognition of the herbalist profession in France. Across his works, Quentin consistently delves into deep and universal themes like memory, the body, and illness, navigating the boundaries between documentary and fiction. |
