Gemma Rigg

Gemma is an award-winning stop motion director specialising in character comedy. Gemma started her career as an actress and comedian and later moved into writing for the stage and screen. She then graduated from Royal Holloway University of London with an MA (dist.) in screenwriting.

Gemma has made 6 award-winning animated films. Being a neurodiverse filmmaker, she prefers working with tiny puppets over people.

Her most recent film, Mattricide (made whilst studying with Aardman Animations), screened in over 100 film festivals across the world, including many Academy and BAFTA qualifying festivals.

Gemma lives in Bristol, UK with her son and the most annoying Bengal cat in the world.
