The $200 Trash Film Competition
The legendary PARTY POOPER SPECTACULAR is back, louder, bloodier, and trashier than ever! This year, our cult trash film competition goes worldwide, with both an international online edition and an in-person screening during the Cabane à Sang Festival in Montréal.
But wtf is the PARTY POOPER? It’s like a 48-hour film challenge, but you have more than two days to make your film. As in any competition, there are rules, and best of all, it is free to participate.
Let us know if you plan on participating by sending us a quick email at TRASH@CABANEASANG.COM that way we get an idea of the amount of participants in this year’s PARTY POOPER.
The rules are simple:
🚫 Don’t be an asshole (no racism, homophobia, etc). It’s 2026 this shit doesn’t fly)
All films will get showcased on cabaneasang.tv, where the audience will vote. Top film wins $200, runner-up gets $100 (Hey, we’re an unfinanced non-profit – we doin’ our best here).
Best entries (according to US – the CaS team) will also get screened live at the actual PARTY POOPER SPECTACULAR during Cabane à Sang Festival in Montréal, May 2026, where the a sold-out event alongside local genre talent.
As any festival that has been around for a minute, we do send off some of our favorite shorts to fellow programmers. Past alumni have gone on to get screened during Fantasia, Monster Fest, Court Mais Trash, and more.
So take out your phone, vhs camcorder or potato camera (we don’t care what you shoot on) and let the crimson juices flow. If it’s bloody, cheesy, and unhinged, SEND IT OUR WAY!
