Réalisé par Roberto Biadi
Roberto Biadi was born in Maremma, in southern Tuscany, around 40 years ago.
His narrative urgency to tell the unfolding of a story leads him to experiment with various techniques, including illustration and animation, graphic novels, writing, and directing.
He moves between experimental short films and work for communication agencies and various brands in Italy and around the world.
He worked as an in-house video art director for IndependentIdeas before embarking on a freelance career, which allows more room for experimentation and creative cross-pollination.
He published the book The Swastika on the Sun in London with AkinaBooks.
His two most representative short films are H and Shunga, attempts to overwhelm the viewer’s ability to grasp every detail in a continuous morphing flow that serves more as a narrative “environment” than a linear path to follow.
He has directed and created numerous music videos and animations for documentaries, the most recent of which (Death & Taxes) is currently being released at DocNYC in New York.
He published his debut graphic novel Le nuvole del Soffitto with Add Editore.
He is currently focusing on a project titled 36 Views of a Shopping Mall, inspired by Ukiyo-e aesthetics: a series of print-ready illustrations that also represent the various stages of an animated short film. The story follows a young girl who is forced to sacrifice part of herself to save her father, set in a dystopian shopping mall.
Above all, and before anything else, he has a beautiful daughter named Nina.
